Early the morning of November 19, 2025, George caught the Sunrise Express to the Round House in the sky.
Son of Allan Matheson and Bertha Ham. George leaves in mourning brother Richard (Brenda) Matheson, sister MaryLou (Rene) Weinhardt, niece Courtney Mahoney, and nephew Timothy Weinhardt.
A visitation will take place at the Cass Funeral Home, 3006 College St, Sherbrooke (Lennoxville), on Saturday, May 9th, 2026 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. followed by the burial at the Massawippi Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.
George enjoyed a fulfilling career with Canadian Pacific Railway and carried his passion for railroading into retirement. He traveled frequently in the Eastern Townships, Vermont, Maine, and New Hampshire tracking and photographing trains.
