It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Mrs. Joyce Mastine (nee Hodge), who left us peacefully on September 2, 2026, at the Hotel Dieu Hospital in Sherbrooke, at the age of 95. Beloved wife of Mr. Clifford Mastine (deceased), she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving sons Ron (Solange), Wayne (Lee Anne) and Paul Jennifer); and her grandchildren Steve (Jenn), Scott (Lisia) Jason and Kaitlyn, Colt and Dylan and great-grandchildren Josh (Emily), Summer, Walker, Mercedes, Memphis as well as Jade (Matt) and Xavier. Great-great grandchild, Stetson as well as Colson and Ophelia, also will miss her.  Her surviving in-laws, nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives, and many friends will fondly remember her.

Family and friends will gather at the Cass Funeral Home, Richmond, on Tuesday, September 8 from 2 to 5:30 and from 7 to 9. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, Sept.9th at the Richmond United Church at 11:00, with a lunch after the service in the hall. Interment to be held at a later date.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the compassionate staff of the Hotel Dieu for the exceptional care provided.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Francis Lunch Program or Trenholm United Church Building Fund, would be appreciated by the family.

Sympathy Messages

Josh, Emilee and Stetson...our sincere sympathy...our thoughts and prayers are with you

- Papa and Grandma Charleau, on September 4, 2026

Our sympathy to the family. Joyce decorated our wedding cake in 1975.

- Roy & Sharon MacKenzie, on September 4, 2026

To Mrs. Mastine’s family, My deepest condolences. My parents, Jack and Connie Whittingham always stopped in for a visit with Joyce and Clifford, and also when my father needed some work done on his car! In my father’s eyes, only Clifford could fix his car! I also had some little visits with Joyce when she was residing at the Home. Its comforting to know that Joyce is back with Clifford and Gary, and all who she loved and lost over the years. May she rest in Peace and may her memory be a blessing 🙏 My Sympathy, Barbara Whittingham

- Barbara Whittingham, on September 4, 2026

We join with so many others who knew and loved Aunt Joyce in extending our deepest sympathy on her passing. While nothing can truly ease the heartbreak of losing someone so dear, we hope you may find comfort in reflecting on the long, full, and meaningful life she lived — a life she embraced wholeheartedly and shared so generously with everyone around her. Her determination, her strength, and especially the immense pride and love she had for her family will remain in our hearts and memories for many years to come. Michael and I believe that the true measure of a life well lived is not found in wealth or possessions, but in the lives we touch, the love we give, and the memories we leave behind. If the outpouring of sympathy following Aunt Joyce’s passing is any indication — and it most certainly is — there can be no doubt that hers was truly a life well lived. The love she gave and the lives she touched are a lasting testament to the remarkable person she was. May you find peace and comfort in the many precious memories you shared with her, and in knowing that her loss is deeply felt by all who knew and loved her. Aunt Joyce will be greatly missed, but her love, her strength, and her memory will remain with us always.

- Michael & Pamela Mastine, on September 4, 2026

Our deepest sympathy to the family and friends. Aunt Joyce was a very special lady. I (Wanda) admired her very much for her commitment to her family and community and her great cooking. I remember the best chicken pot pies she made. She gave me the recipe but it never tasted like hers!! May your many memories help in easing your pain. Thinking of you all. Hugs to you all .Wanda and Larry Doyle
