Leona passed away peacefully on January 4, 2024, at Grace Village, with family by her side, at the age of 93. Wife of the late John Weglowski, she was the daughter of the late Archie Hughes and the late Pearl Demary.
She has gone to join her brother, sisters, and brothers-in-law who predeceased her: Esther (Fredrick Dix), Ethel (William Murphy), Osborn, Margaret and Bertha (Norman Cowhard).
Left to mourn are her children Pearl (Réjean Gilbert), Teddy (Lucie Vachon), Isabel (Donald Grenier), Lawrence, late Lina (Richard Grenier), Johnny (Caroline Coté) and James. She will be greatly missed by her 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Special thanks to all the caregivers and nurses at Grace Village.
Visitation will take place on Friday, Jan. 12, 2024 at Cass Funeral Home, 3006 College St., Sherbrooke (Lennoxville), from 9:00 to 10:45 with a celebration of life service at 11:00 at the funeral home. The burial will take place at a later date in the Moe’s River Cemetery.

I am really sad to hear that Leona is no longer with us...but i know she has gone to a much more beautiful place! I always remember her and i treating her beloved sheep..and her phone calls on my birthday, and seeing her at Greenridge Baptist Church and at the farm...my most heartfelt sympathies to all of you..she will be missed for sure...such a sweet and tough woman...
