Born to Mike Perih and Helen Ryz she was raised on their farmstead outside the city of Dauphin until she left Manitoba to pursue work with disabled children. She spent much of her professional life working with children in schools, but her passions were gardening and all forms of sewing.
Surrounded by loved ones Marie passed 1 month before her 70th birthday from complications due to a decade's long battle with the Alzheimer's disease in Sherbrooke, Quebec.
She is survived by her son Miguel Caron, daughter Lisa Soares and granddaughter Laura.
