It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Cook, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She passed away peacefully at the age of 95, surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion that will be cherished forever.
She is now reunited with those who went before her: her beloved husband, Wendell Cook; her daughter, Linda Cook (Brian Gillim); her parents Gladys Lockwood and Fred Woods; and her brother, George Woods. While her family mourns her passing, they find comfort in knowing she has joined those she loved and missed dearly.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her five children: Bill (Mary Hodsman), Wayne (Kathy Fidler), Shelley (Stephen Flack), Susan (Stephan Thibault), and Barbara. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to 13 grandchildren and a treasured great-grandmother to 19 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to her life.
Family was the center of her world. She will be remembered for her loving heart, unwavering support, gentle wisdom, and the countless memories she created with those fortunate enough to know her. Her home was always a place of warmth, laughter, and welcome, and her love will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Though she will be greatly missed, her family takes comfort in the many memories she leaves behind and in the enduring bonds she nurtured throughout her life.
A private graveside committal will take place.
"Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and forever dear."
