Rosslind Heagney Cantieni

1942 - 2026

Rosslind Frances Cantieni, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026, at 83 years old, concluding a life of devotion to family, artistic accomplishment, and quiet, enduring strength.

Born in Melbourne, Australia, Rosslind grew up with 2 younger siblings, Ron and Pam, with whom she remained close. She married Graham Cantieni, with whom she had 2 children, Angela and David. In 1967, the family immigrated to Canada, where she was to make her home in North Hatley, Quebec for more than five decades.

Rosslind is survived by her partner, David Gagnon; her daughter, Angela (Claude); her son, David (Barbara); her grandchildren, Alexander and Marysa, and her great‑grandchildren — Anna, Elliot, and Sofia. Her family remained the central focus of her life, and her devotion to them was unwavering.

A woman of exceptional skill, Rosslind was widely admired for her creative talents, especially her beautiful quilts and bears, both prized possessions of her family and those lucky enough to receive one: all perfectly stitched, with warm, harmonious colours. She was also an avid gardener; her beautiful flowerbeds provided joy every year. She loved cooking; her kitchen was a place comfort. She will be remembered for many great meals and through the skills that she passed on.

Rosslind’s legacy endures in the family she cherished, the community she enriched, and the many lives touched by her kindness, creativity, and generosity.
