It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Robert James Gifford on May 29, 2022 at the age of 76, after a short battle with cancer. Bob was surrounded by his family and truly loved to the very end. He was the first son of the late Elwin and Bessie (St-James) Gifford.
He leaves to mourn his devoted and loving wife of 52 years Barbara (Aulis) and his loving children: Christine (Michael Schumacher), Mark, Paul (Melany Boucher). He was the beloved grandfather of Rachel and Lauren Schumacher, Alyssa and Tyler Gifford, Evan and Derrick Gifford. Also mourning are his siblings: William (Diane Abercrombie), Beverly, Sandra (Richard Beaudoin), and many other relatives and good friends. He will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his son Danny.
Visitation will take place at Cass funeral Homes, 295, Principal S. Richmond on Thursday, June 2 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Cremation has taken place, followed by a private Graveside service to be held at a later date.
Donations may be made in Bob’s memory to the CHUS Foundation, Association de Syndrome de Down de l’Estrie or the charity of your choice.

I was shocked when just last week his Aunt Marion told me that Bob had been hospitalized and the outcome looked grim. We started school
together and remained good friends throughout our school years. Afterwards we went our different ways but remained good friends which was renewed whenever we met. I hope that you can take some comfort from the fact he was so well liked by innumeral persons. I'm so sorry for your loss and my deepest condolences

Life can be so unfair, loosing a great friend who was healthy, worked hard all his life to take care of his familly, never a bad word to say about anyone, loving husband and father , just a straight up honest guy - one of my very best friends for 60 yrs.

I am so very sorry and shocked. Bob was a very special friend of mine. We knew each other since we were 6 years old. Even had a crush on him for a bit.
Bob will be missed by so many, especially Bill. They seemed to spend a lot of time together.
