Mr. Ernest Nicholson passed away at the Magog hospital on January 18, 2022, at the age of 86, from Stanstead. Son of the late William Nicholson and the late Vurnice Twofoot and dear companion of Marilyn Gilmartin.
He leaves to mourn his children: Richard (Chrystal), Debby (Dale), Danny, Steve, Darleen, and Debby (Jim); his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as his sisters: Shirley, Doris, Marianne and Alice. He was predeceased by his sisters Edna, Leona, Florina and Ida. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
The family would like to offer special thanks to the caregivers from the Stanstead CLSC and the Magog hospital for the wonderful care provided to Mr. Nicholson.
Visitation and a funeral ceremony will take place at the Cass Funeral Home, 545 Dufferin, Stanstead, Qc, J0B 3E0, at a date to be announced.

Ernie was a big part of this family; he and Marilyn have always been there for everyone, at any time. The strength and perseverance that they both displayed through Ernie's illnesses over the past six years have touched many. That's how Ernie will truly be remembered. From Ron Drew: Ernie was my Uncle; since he was only 6 years older than me, he was more like my older brother as we grew up.
So many memories going to school in Dixville, going with Ernie on the Carnation Milk truck and some experiences riding with him in his car.
So sad of the illness he endured; he rarely discussed it with me and we always enjoyed reminiscing about the past.
