It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marie Zolta Palik, who passed away peacefully on October 6, 2026, at the age of 98, at The Wales Home.
Born in Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic), she was the daughter of the late Jozef Zolta and Leopoldina Josiekova Zolta. Marie immigrated to Canada in 1968, where she built a life filled with family, friendships, music, baking and many accomplishments.
Marie was a loving, feisty and strong woman, both in character and in spirit. She loved to sing, and for many years shared her beautiful voice as a member of the choir at St. Patrick’s Church.
Marie was also a successful Avon representative for many years. Her determination, energy and wonderful ability to connect with people earned her multiple sales awards, accomplishments of which she was very proud.
She was predeceased by her husband, Karel Palik and will be lovingly remembered by her children:
Zdenek Palik (Sonia Zwierzchowska Palik);
daughters Lidia Palik (Marc Robertson) and Jennifer Palik (Phillippe Gnadou);
Dagmar Palik (André Grégoire) daughters Davina Palik (Daniel Kudish) and Arielle Palik (Sebastian Di Poi);
John Palik;
daughters Capella Palik Hart (Bradley Hart) and Laetitia Best.
She will also be lovingly remembered by her great-grandchildren, Noah Pritchard, Mateo Jarquin, Hannah Pritchard, Rachel Pritchard, Max Kudish, Charlie Kudish, Aurora Hart and her many nieces and nephews.
Marie is survived by her sister, Hena Zolta Parchanska, who resides in the Czech Republic. She was predeceased by her sisters, Anna Zolta Kopcova and Antonieta (Tonka) Zolta and her brother, Jozef Zolty.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and staff at The Wales Home for the exceptional care, kindness, compassion and love they gave Marie. Their dedication brought comfort not only to Marie, but also to her family, and will always be remembered with deep appreciation.
Marie leaves behind a family who loved her deeply and a legacy that will continue through the generations. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
